Yes. Every feature on this page — real-time sync, memorable URLs, QR codes, PIN protection, self-destruct timers and view-once mode — is free with no account. There is no paid tier gating clipboard sync.
Do I need to install an app or extension?
No. ShareNotes runs entirely in the browser, so it works on a phone, a tablet, a work laptop you cannot install software on, or a borrowed machine. You can optionally install it as a PWA for a home-screen icon, but that is a convenience, not a requirement.
Can I use it to move passwords or other sensitive text?
You can, and the tools help: add a PIN, set a short self-destruct timer, or tick "Delete after first read" so the note is destroyed the moment it is opened. Be aware that notes are stored on the server and are not end-to-end encrypted, so for high-value secrets a dedicated secrets manager is the better choice.
Does it work between different operating systems?
Yes. It is a web page, so an Android phone, an iPhone, a Windows desktop, a Mac and a Linux box can all share the same clipboard note at once. There is no per-platform build to keep in step.
What happens to my clipboard text afterwards?
By default a note is removed 7 days after it was last opened. You can shorten that with a 1 hour, 24 hour or 7 day self-destruct timer, or make it single-use with view-once mode. Expired notes are hard-deleted from the database, not just hidden.
