Privnote gives you a link like privnote.com/note/Xz3kY8mQ — type that on another device and good luck. ShareNotes gives you sharenotes.dev/blue-fox-42: readable, typeable, memorable. Plus real-time sync across devices while the note is live, before it self-destructs.
Four things ShareNotes adds on top of the same idea.
sharenotes.dev/blue-fox-42 instead of privnote.com/note/Xz3kY8mQ. Read it aloud, type it by hand.
Edit the note and every open device sees the change in real time, before it expires.
Generate a scannable QR code for the link — useful for handing a note to someone in person.
Headings, lists, code blocks, and links render properly instead of showing as raw symbols.

Answers, briefly.
How is ShareNotes different from Privnote?
ShareNotes uses memorable word-based URLs like sharenotes.dev/blue-fox-42 instead of Privnote's random hash links like privnote.com/note/Xz3kY8mQ. ShareNotes also adds real-time multi-device sync, QR code sharing, and markdown rendering on top of the same self-destruct-timer idea.
Do I need an account to use ShareNotes instead of Privnote?
No. Just like Privnote, ShareNotes requires no sign-up, no email, and no password to create a note. Open sharenotes.dev, paste your content, and share the link.
Is ShareNotes free like Privnote?
Yes. ShareNotes is free forever, with no paid tier required for self-destructing notes, QR codes, or markdown support.
How does the self-destruct timer work on ShareNotes?
Pick 1 hour, 24 hours, or 7 days when you save a note. After the timer elapses the note is hard-deleted from the database and the URL returns 410 Gone. This differs from Privnote's default of deleting after the first read, though Privnote also offers time-based expiry on some notes.
Can I password protect a note like on Privnote?
Yes. ShareNotes supports an optional PIN/password gate on any note, similar to Privnote, in addition to the self-destruct timer.
Why does ShareNotes use memorable URLs instead of random hashes?
Word-based slugs like blue-fox-42 are easier to read aloud, retype on another device, or remember briefly than a string like Xz3kY8mQ. It's a small difference that matters when you're sharing a link verbally or across devices without copy-paste.
